Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of a classically trained violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. They worked hard for their families and she travelled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike was a student at the Badminton School in Bristol, England and began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first made an appearance in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent when she was noticed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Although her first film was a large-budget action movie, her film performances were mostly in smaller independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She won the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for this film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her debut film. Following the action film, Doom (2006) and the thriller Fracture (2007), Pike made a brief foray into Hollywood film. She then returned to smaller-scale films and starred in some impressive performance in three movies: An Education (2008) Then, she starred in Made in Dagenham (2010) as well as the leading role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike returned to action-films as the main actress, playing Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
